Malady totally pressuring her.

i've never had beer before so i don't know anything about it so i had to do some research and consult people on what beer i should use in this scene. there were a bunch of different ones i was trying to decide between but Colt 45 was the winner, it seemed to me like the best fit.

Zia is so full of it! i like writing her a lot even though if i knew her in real life i would probably find her exasperating.

it's hard doing a scene like this and trying to suggest that there are multiple conversations going on in different parts of the room, but i thought the little indecipherable off-panel word balloons work pretty well. if it's too small to read on your monitor, Fern's balloon in the last panel says "i may be drunk..."

finally some action sort of! :) we got Mara, Cleo, Zia, Penny, Fern, Malady, Glen and Audrey, i think this is the most characters I've ever drawn in one place together, not counting strangers like at the Bella Morte show in volume 3 and comic convention in volume 4.

Glen has a Friday The 13th shirt, and Malady's shirt is supposed to be a germ but it's too small to tell what it is.

i liked drawing the tire tracks in Fern's lawn. i figure her wraparound porch + balcony might take the rest of the series to finish. i haven't really gone into it in the comic so far, but the idea is that Fern is remodeling her house and is having the porches rebuilt, and part of the undertaking is that she's hired Penny to do the interior design work.

it's mentioned i think (i hope, sometimes i forget what i've included) at least a couple times that Penny is an interior decorator/designer, and at one point i actually had a whole side story of Penny dealing with her various clients and the melodrama that forms among them, but it was much too sprawling to include in the comic and ended up being whittled down to just Fern. that old story is the reason Penny is named Penny, though, short for Penelope which is a Greek name meaning "weaver" referring to the webs of drama Penny weaves (i believe the name is also considered to be derived from a type of duck, which doesn't quite work but it funny, heh).

here we go! sorry for this slow first page, but the mood has to be set! this volume takes a minute to get going.

i'd like to thank everyone who's been reading Wet Moon and been waiting for volume 6 since volume 5 came out back in 2009, thank you for sticking around all this time and bearing with me. i feel like i owe everyone something, i hope this preview is worth it.
